Welcome to the website of the most dynamic (and fun!) non-profit organization in the Rio Grande Valley. Los Caminos del Rio began as a Texas Historical Commission exercise in historic and cultural preservation back in 1991. Fresh investment from the Meadows Foundation has reinvigorated our pursuit of National Heritage Area status for the Corridor from Laredo to Brownsville. Through a robust mix of place-based education, support for the arts and outdoor sports we make the Valley a more interesting place to live.
Whether you're a grade school teacher looking to stimulate or reward your students, a captain of industry looking for a different kind of retreat for your staff, or just new in town and wondering what people do around here besides eat and wash their car, look no further.
Experience the Rio Grande Corridor firsthand through our Outdoor Adventure Program. Trained Adventure Guides will
